EXCEL4MED shares stakeholders insights at “VIII PhD Students Meeting in Environment and Agriculture”

EXCEL4MED

On 11-12 December 2023, EXCEL4MED was featured at the VIII PhD Students Meeting in Environment and Agriculture, hosted in Évora (Portugal).

The event brought together emerging researchers, academics and experts to discuss the latest scientific developments related to agriculture and environmental sustainability.

Presenting stakeholder perspectives on novel food technologies

During the conference, Aybike Bayraktar, PhD student at CIHEAM-IAMM and EXCEL4MED partner, presented findings from the study:
What do local stakeholders think about novel food processing technologies? A case study in Greece and Malta”.

The presentation explored how local actors in the food value chain perceive emerging food processing technologies, offering valuable insights into the acceptance, concerns and expectations of stakeholders in the Mediterranean region.

This research is part of EXCEL4MED’s broader mission to support innovative, sustainable solutions in Mediterranean fruit supply chains.

Organised by the Mediterranean Institute for Environment, Agriculture and Development (MED), the Institute for Research and Advanced Training (IIFA) of the University of Évora, and supported by the Food & Water Sub-network of UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union, the event highlighted the interdisciplinary and international efforts being made to address the challenges of agriculture, food innovation and sustainability.
