EXCEL4MED Living Lab in Malta gathers consumer perspectives on sustainability in food systems

EXCEL4MED

The second session of the 1st EXCEL4MED Living Lab in Malta, held on 5 May 2023, was an interactive workshop focused on gathering consumer perspectives on sustainable practices in the food industry.

With 28 participants from diverse professional and personal backgrounds, the session provided valuable insights into consumer thoughts, ideas and recommendations for the proposed green technologies.

This session aimed to understand consumer preferences and expectations related to sustainability, particularly in the context of the Mediterranean food supply chain.

The diversity of participants enriched the discussions, allowing for a well-rounded understanding of how sustainability aligns with their values and how it could influence their food choices.

Capturing consumer perspectives on sustainability

Through interactive activities and group discussions, the workshop captured a broad range of consumer opinions that will inform future developments in the project.

The second Living Lab session proved to be a significant step forward in achieving the project’s objectives. The input from consumers, combined with the feedback from stakeholders in the first session, has provided a comprehensive overview of the key factors driving innovation and sustainability in the Mediterranean food industry.

These insights will be crucial in guiding the development and implementation of green technologies that are not only innovative but also resonate with both stakeholders and consumers!

The 1st EXCEL4MED Living Lab in Malta set the stage for continued engagement with stakeholders and consumers.

As the project progresses, the goal remains to promote the adoption of green technologies, support sustainable practices and drive innovation within the Mediterranean food industry – stay tuned!
