EXCEL4MED took part in the workshop “Digital Transformation in Agriculture: Networks of Knowledge and Innovation”, organised by the TALLHEDA project and hosted at the Agricultural University of Athens on 1 April 2026.
The workshop created a space for meaningful exchange on how digital tools, collaboration and knowledge-sharing networks can support the transition towards more sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.
Discussions focused on the role of innovation ecosystems in addressing current challenges in the agri-food sector.
Framing EXCEL4MED within Europe’s innovation ecosystem
During the event, our partner Eirini Xaxiri (SEVT – Federation of Hellenic Food Industries) delivered a presentation titled “From Knowledge to Innovation: The Role of European Projects in Bridging Academia and Industry”.
Her contribution highlighted how European-funded initiatives facilitate collaboration between research and industry, helping translate scientific knowledge into practical applications.
Within this context, EXCEL4MED was presented as a concrete example of how cooperation between academia, industry, and innovation hubs supports the development and validation of new approaches for more efficient and future-ready food systems.
Participating in this workshop offered an important opportunity to position EXCEL4MED within a broader network of innovation-driven initiatives.
Special thanks go to the TALLHEDA project for the invitation and for facilitating a constructive dialogue on innovation in agriculture.
