On 7-8 February 2023, our partner Smart Agro Hub had the opportunity to present EXCEL4MED at the kick-off Meeting of the EU-funded TRUSTFOOD project, held in Patras (Greece).

This event brought together key stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the future of digital skills in the food supply chain sector.

What is TRUSTFOOD?

TRUSTFOOD is a Digital Europe project focused on upskilling and reskilling professionals in the food supply chain, particularly SMEs owners, managers and employees.

By offering short-term, high-quality training courses, the project equips participants with advanced digital skills, particularly in blockchain technologies and their application to food supply chain management.

These courses are designed to help industry professionals and job seekers understand and implement digital innovations to enhance traceability, transparency and efficiency in food systems.

Bringing EXCEL4MED’s living labs to the table

As part of our participation, Smart Agro Hub introduced the EXCEL4MED Living Labs, which will serve as real-world testing environments for innovative and sustainable solutions in Mediterranean fruit supply chains.

The meeting was a great opportunity to extend an informal call for participants, inviting food supply chain professionals to engage with EXCEL4MED’s activities and explore synergies between both projects.

By aligning EXCEL4MED’s work on sustainable agri-food innovation with TRUSTFOOD’s focus on digital upskilling, we are strengthening cross-project collaboration and ensuring that stakeholders in the Mediterranean food sector are equipped with advanced digital tools to drive sustainability and efficiency.
