From 13-15 March 2025, EXCEL4MED took part in the Forward Green Expo, an international exhibition dedicated to the circular economy.
Hosted at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Center (Greece), this event brought together stakeholders from across sectors to discuss sustainable solutions for reducing waste and promoting resource efficiency.
Our Greek partners from EKPIZO represented EXCEL4MED at the exhibition, engaging visitors in discussions about how science, civil society, local government and the food industry can work together to tackle food waste and build a more sustainable future.
EXCEL4MED’s mission in the circular economy
As a project focused on reducing food waste and enhancing sustainability in Mediterranean fruit supply chains, EXCEL4MED aligns perfectly with the goals of Forward Green Expo.
By promoting innovative waste valorisation strategies and fostering collaboration between key stakeholders, we aim to turn food by-products into valuable resources, supporting both the environment and the economy.
A platform for dialogue and action
At the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to:
- Learn about EXCEL4MED’s research on food waste reduction and circular practices.
- Engage in discussions on how local governments and industries can implement sustainable policies.
